The business grew out of the simple reality of building on the Northern Beaches: level useable ground is scarce. Homes sit on steep coastal headlands, cliff-side blocks above the beaches and treed bushland slopes, so almost every renovation, pool, driveway, granny flat or new build needs earth retained first. Over the years we have built retaining walls into all of it, learning how shallow sandstone bedrock changes excavation and footings, how coastal rainfall and steep runoff punish a wall without proper drainage, and which materials suit a salty beachside block versus a bushfire-interface block backing onto the Garigal bushland. That local grounding is why our walls are designed to last on this ground, not a generic ground.

In that time he has worked with concrete sleeper, timber, block, sandstone, boulder and gabion walls on all kinds of steep and rocky blocks, so he can look at a slope and tell you what will actually hold and what it should cost. The crew has built retaining walls together across the peninsula and knows how to work tight, steep and rocky sites safely, from getting plant onto a sloping block to founding footings into competent sandstone.
